Helsea

after a crazy semester following my return from london, i am ready to be back (for good this time). i just moved into a beautiful apt in Helsea (thats the awkward territory between Chelsea and Hells Kitchen which should be referred to as Clinton, but Helsea sounds trendier). so anyways, im living on 35th and 9th with a good friend and am thoroughly enjoying exploring this new neighborhood. its been a crazy time so far, filled with drug induced dreams, lots of booze, and the occasional salad when im feeling fat. looking forward to 2011 and getting back to work…

London…

is AMAZING. This trip has been an incredible experience and a great opportunity to get back in touch with myself. Whether I am spending an evening at the theatre or picnic-ing in the park with some great new friends, I am having a blast. I have met some amazing people who have been an absolute please to hang out with. Tomorrow I begin looking at several MA programs and hope I can find one that I love because this trip has made me realize that I would love to live and study in London.

For the evening performance, I went back to see Priscilla: Queen of the Desert and all I can say is HOLY SHIT! I first saw the show back in January when I was in London and fell head-over-heels in love with it. Much to my surprise, I loved it even more this time around! The cast is just incredible and raise the standard for work ethic. An incredible night at the theater, which makes me even more excited to see it in Toronto in October and on Broadway next Spring!!

So despite being jetlagged as fuck, I decided to take in the matinee of Hair today in London to give myself the closure I needed (although I may wind up seeing it again before I leave). The majority of the original Broadway cast transferred to London with the show, and they just have an energy and bond that can’t be replicated (as made evident by the closing Tribe on Broadway). Anyways, I wound up getting a seat in the 6th row for only twenty pounds, and it was such an incredible experience! The cast was on fire and I got to see Hannah Shankman work it as Sheila! I am so thankful that I was able to be reminded of the magic that made me fall in love with Hair once again :)

You know how in the 2000’s every girl needed a gay best friend? Well, in the 2010’s, every straight guy will.
